Brian McDermot is an award-winning chef from Donegal, who is passionate about showcasing the very best of Ireland’s food.  As a consultant with Dunnes Stores Simply Better, Brian works closely with many Irish food producers, helping them to innovate, refine their products, and bring their craft to a national audience. Through this role, he shines a spotlight on local producers and ensures their stories and skills are celebrated in households across the country in The Simply Better Range.

Brian was also instrumental in creating Foodovation, a state-of-the-art development centre at North West Regional College in Derry, which supports producers in turning concepts into successful retail products. Earlier in his career, he worked as a development chef with Kerry Group, gaining invaluable experience in the national and international growth of food businesses.

Beyond his consultancy, Brian is the resident chef on RTÉ Radio 1’s Today with Claire Byrne and a regular on RTÉ Television’s Today Show. His expertise and approachable style have made him a trusted culinary voice across Irish media, complemented by more than 15 years as a contributor to BBC Radio.
