

Developed by experienced food safety experts, SALSA https://www.salsafood.co.uk/ is a robust and effective food safety certification scheme which is appropriate for smaller food producers and suppliers. SALSA approval is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce and supply safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard. For nearly 20 years, SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) has helped micro and small UK food and drink producers demonstrate that their products are safe, legal and produced to the highest standards.
This year, SALSA has expanded into Ireland, giving smaller Irish producers access to the same trusted food safety framework used by almost 2,000 approved UK members.
This a welcome development for Irish producers and offers a midway point for those on a journey to eventually achieve BRC Standard.
Sarah Robbins from the SALSA team will update producers on what’s involved and the benefits. Sarah will be joined by a UK producer who has successfully used SALSA to help their growth plans.
